Beverly Woolard has been a School Social Worker for Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) since 1989. Mrs. Woolard has a passion for helping others and provides a variety of services to support students and families. Some of these services include: consultation and education regarding socialization and school adjustment; acting as a school liaison to community agencies; providing counseling services to students individually and in small groups; in addition, to providing attendance interventions to promote and reinforce regular attendance with students and families. Mrs. Woolard was raised in Alexandria and graduated from what is now known as Alexandria City High School. She earned a BSW from Norfolk State University and a MSW from Howard University. In 2014, she was the first Social Worker to receive the “Outstanding Teacher Appreciation” award from the Parker-Gray Alumni Association. Mrs. Woolard lives in Alexandria with her husband and is very active in the community.
